Hi Tom, My bookings in La Fortuna, Arenal Areas have not been for hotels with kitchenettes. However I understand that Montana del Fuego hotels has kitchenettes. You can find them on the internet. They are well located approx 5 miles from the little town of La Fortuna on the main road to all the attractions. La Fortuna is a very small town and has one main grocery store which is small. And since I am now in the US I cannot call information and get their phone number. They do not speak English there and would not have email. I have shopped there and know they carry all the basic supplies but very few imported items from the US. US products can be found in the Auto Mercado grocery store in Escazu ( western suburb of San Jose) And also on the Santa Ana Highway (from Santa Ana into Belen. Again not convenient. But my experience is that I have not had to shop there (it is not convenient) bad traffic getting there. I find all the basics in the Costa Rica grocery stores. If your child has a specific need, perhaps you could bring that product with you from the US. Regards, Ann

My wife and I and two sons ages 9 and 17 will be coming to Arenal area from Manuel Antonio on March 30 or so. We are looking for suggestions of places to stay in La Fortuna that have kitchenettes. Also, we would like phone or email for grocery stores in town, since my youngest has food allergies and we would like to see whether certain foods are available.

Thanks for your help,
Tom
