Can you tell me please, since I am not a credit card person and apparently debit cards (I use that exclusively) arent accepted are travelers checks like for the hotel and for admission fees, etc? For taxi's cash I would imagine, the taxi company said they will take US money...but how about at shops and other places? I dont want to have a lot of cash with me, just enough for small things besides taxis and figured my debit card for all else but if that wont work, travelers checks or no? Debit Cards are no accepted in Costa Rica. ATM machines are now closed from 11 pm to 5 am to reduce theft.
